Analisis Kritis Teologi Anugerah dalam 'Systematic Theology' Karya John Frame

Abstract: Theology of grace is one of the central teachings in Christianity, which states that human salvation depends entirely on God's grace, not on human effort or works. John Frame, in Systematic Theology, developed the concept of grace with a strong focus on God's sovereignty. Although there are many studies on the theology of grace in the Reformed tradition, Frame's approach has not been analysed in depth within contemporary evangelical theology. This study aims to analyse Frame's theology of grace from an evangelical perspective, exploring how grace interacts with law, God's sovereignty, and human responsibility. This study uses a qualitative, literature-based approach, analysing primary sources from Frame's Systematic Theology and secondary sources related to the theology of grace. The results of the study show that Frame emphasises God's absolute sovereignty in the granting of grace, but still recognises human responsibility. Frame also successfully integrates grace with law and the ethical life of Christians. In conclusion, Frame's theology of grace makes an important contribution to enriching the discourse of evangelical theology, especially in maintaining a balance between God's grace and human responsibility, as well as practical implications for Christian life.
Abstrak: Teologi anugerah merupakan salah satu ajaran sentral dalam Kekristenan, yang menyatakan bahwa keselamatan manusia sepenuhnya bergantung pada anugerah Allah, bukan pada usaha atau perbuatan manusia. John Frame, dalam Systematic Theology, mengembangkan konsep anugerah dengan fokus kuat pada kedaulatan Allah. Meskipun banyak kajian tentang teologi anugerah dalam tradisi Reformed, pendekatan Frame belum dianalisis secara mendalam dalam konteks teologi Injili kontemporer. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis teologi anugerah Frame dari perspektif Injili, mengeksplorasi bagaimana anugerah berinteraksi dengan hukum, kedaulatan Allah, dan tanggung jawab manusia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi literatur, menganalisis sumber primer Systematic Theology karya Frame dan sekunder terkait teologi anugerah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Frame menekankan kedaulatan mutlak Allah dalam pemberian anugerah, namun tetap mengakui tanggung jawab manusia. Frame juga berhasil mengintegrasikan anugerah dengan hukum dan kehidupan etis orang Kristen. Kesimpulannya, teologi anugerah Frame memberikan kontribusi penting dalam memperkaya wacana teologi Injili, khususnya dalam menjaga keseimbangan antara anugerah Allah dan tanggung jawab manusia, serta implikasi praktis bagi kehidupan Kristen
